Moving Day in Bluewater Park
We pulled off the Bruce Highway onto Bluewater Drive around 7am for this three-bedroom house move. The property was set back about 60 metres from the road on a sealed driveway — much easier than some of the full acreage blocks further up the road. The house was a single-storey rendered block home with a double garage and a separate garden shed.
The owners were downsizing to a unit in Townsville City, so there was a fair bit of furniture to sort through. They had already boxed up the kitchen and bedrooms, which made our job significantly faster. The lounge had a large L-shaped couch that needed to come out through the sliding glass doors onto the back patio rather than through the hallway.
The shed had a ride-on mower, some outdoor furniture and about a dozen boxes of camping and fishing gear. Our blokes loaded the shed contents first while the third crew member wrapped the indoor furniture. The whole property was loaded in about three hours.
The run south to Townsville City took about 25 minutes on the highway. The new unit had lift access and a dedicated loading bay, so unloading was quick. Total job came in at five hours including travel — a clean, straightforward move that ran exactly to the quote.
