Moving Day in Black River
Black River is one of those suburbs where two houses on the same street can require completely different approaches. This job was a newer four-bedroom home in one of the recent estates off Black River Road. Double garage, concrete driveway, wide front door — textbook suburban move.
The owners were a young family moving to a larger home in Kirwan. Two kids, three bedrooms of furniture, a play room full of toys and a garage packed with bikes, a surfboard, camping gear and the usual suburban collection. The missus had done a great job labelling every box by room, which our crew always appreciates.
We started loading at 7:30am. The wide driveway let us park the truck right at the front door. The furniture was modern and standard size — nothing that needed special handling beyond normal blanket wrapping. The garage gear went in last, stacked on top of the household items.
Loading took two and a half hours. The drive to Kirwan was about 15 minutes through the Woolcock Street corridor. The new house was the same modern style with a double garage, so unloading was fast and easy. Total job was just under four and a half hours — one of the quicker moves we do on the Northern Beaches fringe. The newer Black River estates are among the most removal-friendly properties in the Townsville area.
