Moving Day in Aitkenvale
Aitkenvale is one of our busiest suburbs in Townsville. On a typical week we will run two or three jobs here. This morning it is a Defence family moving from a three-bedroom brick home south of Stockland to a new posting in Cairns. We have the interstate truck booked for this one — everything goes in one load.
We pull into the driveway at seven. The house is immaculate — military families know how to pack. Boxes are labelled, beds are disassembled, and the kitchen is already boxed up. Our job is to load it all efficiently and protect it for the long haul north.
The fridge, washing machine and dryer go on first, strapped against the front wall of the truck. Then the bed frames and mattresses in protective covers.
