Moving Day in Riverside Gardens

The family was moving to a similar-sized home in Idalia. Both parents worked and had three school-age kids, so the house had the typical family inventory: four bedrooms of furniture, a big playroom, a study with a desk and bookshelves, plus a double garage with bikes, a trampoline frame and the usual suburban accumulation.
Our three-person crew started at 7am. The wide double garage doors meant we could stage items on the driveway efficiently while one person wrapped and loaded inside the truck. The modern floor plan — open-plan living, wide hallways, sliding doors to the alfresco — meant we could move large items through without the gymnastics that older homes require.
The trampoline frame was disassembled in about 15 minutes. Bikes went in a cluster against the truck wall, secured with straps. The study bookshelves were emptied into boxes and the shelves went flat against the inside wall of the truck.
Loading took just under three hours. The drive to Idalia was about 10 minutes. The new house had the same modern layout, so placement was quick — the family had drawn up a room plan and our crew followed it. Total job was four and a half hours.
