The suburb offers a quick commute in any direction — the CBD is five minutes south, Stockland is five minutes west, and the northern beaches are a straight run up Stuart Drive. The housing mix in Pimlico is varied — older Queenslanders on the streets south of Fulham Road, solid brick homes from the 1960s through the 1980s, and newer unit complexes built to service hospital workers. The Queenslanders around Scott Street and Bamford Lane sit high on stumps and often have steep internal staircases that make furniture removal a two-person stair job. The brick homes are mostly single-storey with straightforward access. Unit complexes near the hospital typically have lifts but strict body corporate moving windows.
