Mundingburra's housing is predominantly lowset brick and tile from the 1970s and 1980s on flat quarter-acre blocks, with a scattering of older Queenslanders on the streets closer to the river. Newer townhouse developments have appeared along Ross River Road. The lowset homes are straightforward to move — ground-level access, wide front doors and single or double garages. The older homes near the river sit higher on stumps, and some have not been renovated since original construction, meaning narrow doorways and dated floor plans.
Ross River Road is the main artery through Mundingburra and it carries heavy traffic all day.
