Almost all housing in Idalia is single-storey rendered block construction from the 2000s and 2010s, designed to a higher specification than the nearby suburbs. Homes typically feature four bedrooms, two bathrooms, double garages with internal access, stone benchtops, ducted air conditioning and polished concrete or tiled flooring throughout. Block sizes range from 500 to 700 square metres, and many properties back onto the river reserve or parklands. The consistent modern construction makes Idalia predictable for our crew — wide doorways, open-plan layouts and flat access from the garage to every room.
Idalia is accessed from University Drive to the north and Stuart Drive to the east. Internal streets are well-maintained, wide and flat with excellent kerb access. The estate layout features long straight streets and court bowls — ideal for a removal truck. There is minimal through-traffic because Idalia is largely a destination suburb with no major roads running through it. The only consideration is the University Drive and Stuart Drive intersection, which can be busy during peak hours, but our drivers know alternate approaches via the back streets through Annandale.

Moving Day in Idalia

We come in off University Drive, park the truck on the street outside your place and the crew walks through for the initial inspection. Every room gets checked, fragile items are tagged and the loading sequence is planned.
Because Idalia homes are ground-level with double garages, internal access and wide hallways, the loading process is smooth and efficient. We wheel heavy items straight from the living areas through the garage and up the truck ramp. Polished concrete and tiled floors are common here, so we lay protective coverings before we start moving anything to prevent scuff marks or cracks.
A 4-bedroom home in Idalia takes about three and a half to four hours with a two-person crew.
