The small community of permanent residents shares the plateau with walking trails, waterfalls and some of the oldest subtropical rainforest in Australia.
Properties on the plateau range from original timber weekenders and mountain lodges to renovated family homes and boutique bed-and-breakfasts. Nearly all are set among dense rainforest on sloping blocks, with timber stairs and elevated decks forming the primary access points.
Springbrook Road climbs over 900 metres from Mudgeeraba with steep gradients, tight corners and limited guardrails. Our most experienced hinterland drivers handle Springbrook moves and we cap truck size to ensure safe cornering. At the top, many properties are accessed via narrow bush tracks — we use a smaller shuttle van to move items from the truck to the front door and carry non-slip mats for the moss-covered timber stairs that are common across the plateau.

Springbrook Road is one of the steepest and most winding routes on the Gold Coast. We assign our most experienced hinterland drivers to plateau moves and use a truck size suited to the tight switchbacks.
Watch for moss on timber stairs.
The damp climate means timber decks and stairs are often moss-covered and slippery. Sweep or pressure-wash entry steps before moving day so the crew can carry heavy items safely.
Use moisture-resistant packing.
Springbrook's cool, humid air can affect exposed timber furniture and soft furnishings during loading. We bring plastic wrap and moisture-proof blankets, but packing clothes and linen in sealed bags adds extra protection.
Schedule extra time for the plateau.
The drive from the coast to Springbrook takes around 45 minutes in a loaded truck, and access tracks at the top slow things further. Allow a full day for your move to avoid rushing the descent in fading light.
