Manoora is an established inner suburb sitting just northwest of the Cairns CBD, bordered by the Cairns Hospital precinct to the south and the quieter residential streets of Cairns North to the east. The suburb has a varied housing stock including original post-war homes, fibro and brick cottages, and a number of small unit and townhouse complexes that have been developed over the past two decades. The older residential streets are well-established with mature trees and wider nature strips that allow comfortable truck parking in most locations.
Sheridan Street, which borders Manoora to the east, is one of Cairns' busiest arterials and should be avoided as a truck access route during the morning and afternoon peak. Avoid Sheridan Street during peak hours.
Sheridan Street runs along Manoora's eastern boundary and is severely congested from 7:30 to 8:30am and 4 to 5:30pm. Our drivers use the residential streets parallel to Sheridan Street to access and exit most Manoora properties, keeping the move on schedule regardless of main-road conditions.
Check tree canopy clearance on older streets.
