Tips for a Smooth Manunda Move
Avoid hospital shift change times.
The Cairns Hospital on Esplanade draws significant local traffic during shift changes at around 7am and 3pm. Properties near the hospital on Mulgrave Road and the surrounding streets experience noticeably heavier traffic at these times — plan your move start to avoid them.
Confirm rear access for older homes.
Many older Manunda properties have laneways or rear access points that allow our truck to get closer to the back door or shed. Checking this before the move day can save a lot of carrying time if you have large items stored at the back of the property.
Plan for wet season afternoon storms.
Manunda's position in the middle of the city means little natural shade cover on the street during loading. From November to April, brief but intense afternoon storms are common — having your boxes packed and ready by mid-morning helps us load quickly between weather windows.
Use Minnie Street for smooth truck access.
Mulgrave Road can be difficult to park on with a large removal truck due to bus lanes and parking restrictions. Our drivers typically approach properties close to Mulgrave Road via the parallel residential streets like Minnie Street where parking is more accessible.
